There was a sad and tragic hit-and-run accident on Highway 401 on New Years Day. A seven-year-old boy from Mississauga died after the vehicle he was travelling in was rear-ended on Highway 401. The fatal hit-and-run accident happened around 5 p.m. near Dixie Road. The victim, a seven-year-old child, was one of four children and two adults in the van that was struck. The driver of the other vehicle involved in this highway 401 collision fled the scene.

There was a fatal pedestrian accident in Richmond Hill, Ontario at Jefferson Side Road and Alpaca Drive on the morning of December 17, 2012. The victim of this Richmond Hill fatal pedestrian accident was a 64 year-old woman from the Town of Richmond Hill. Sadly, the woman succumbed to her injuries at hospital. This highway 404 head-on collision occurred on the early morning of Saturday December 15, 2012. Sadly, the driver's of both vehicles involved in this York Region car accident died. According to early reports, this accident involved a Dodge Neon that collided with a Honda Accord in the northbound lanes of Highway 404, shortly before 6 am.
